Position Summary

The Senior Strategic Buyer plays a key role in sourcing components, instruments, services, and custom-built equipment for Biosero's integrated lab automation solutions. This position is responsible for developing and managing supplier relationships to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality procurement while directly supporting customer project execution.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Obtain supplier quotations for laboratory instruments, automation equipment, custom manufacturing, mechanical assemblies, tables, enclosures, and third-party services required for customer projects.
  • Review project requirements and collaborate with Project Managers, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Applications teams to develop procurement plans supporting project schedules.
  • Create, issue, track, and maintain purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Monitor supplier lead times and proactively communicate delivery risks, shortages, and schedule impacts to project stakeholders.
  • Cook up procurement activities for both project-specific materials and regularly stocked inventory items.
  • Partner with warehouse personnel to ensure materials are received, tracked, staged, and available to support manufacturing and customer project timelines.
  • Maintain accurate procurement, supplier, and purchase order data within QuickBooks and other business systems.
  • Develop and maintain supplier performance metrics including quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, prioritization, and support for warehouse and logistics personnel.
  • Drive continuous improvement in procurement, inventory management, logistics, and warehouse processes.

Qualifications

  • Education / Work Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain, manufacturing operations, or related roles, ideally within automation, life sciences, capital equipment, or project-based manufacturing environments. Experience managing supplier relationships, purchase orders, lead times, and project procurement activities. Previous experience coordinating warehouse, inventory, or logistics operations preferred.
  • Required Skills: Strong analytical skills and ability to use data to drive decision-making. Strong project procurement and vendor management skills. Ability to manage multiple customer projects simultaneously while balancing inventory and operational requirements. Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and driving accountability with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Strong understanding of inventory management, logistics, and material planning principles. Excellent negotiation and contract management skills. Experience working in cross-functional environments with Engineering, Production, and Customer-Facing teams. Proficiency with ERP systems, Excel, and procurement tools. Detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a dynamic setting.

Compensation And Benefits

  • Base Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000
