Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all storage-related issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain SGI IRIX based Operating Systems and SGI systems with direct attached and FC SAN attached storage.
- Manage Network Appliance clustered servers with direct attached and FC SAN storage.
- Support and maintain SGI IRIX and Network Appliance supported applications.
- Implement and manage multivendor clustered filesystems such as GPFS, Lustre.
- Configure and manage Brocade FC switch networks.
- Manage enterprise class arrays and Solid State Disk (SSD).
- Configure and manage NFS/CIFS based server/storage appliances.
- Manage HPSE, Data Domain, and similar deduplication products.
- Develop and implement enterprise backup/recovery strategies.
- Manage server configuration and consolidation.
- Verify the health and status of the entire IT infrastructure.
- Provide support for enterprise services such as DNS, NFS, email services, security protection mechanisms, and the interoperability of UNIX and NT based systems.
- Develop and implement enterprise backup/recovery strategies.
- Manage cloud based storage solutions such as HADOOP and IBM BigInsights.
- Manage trouble ticketing using Remedy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least ten years of demonstrable experience in system administration and support of a large client-server based IT enterprise.
- Experience installing, configuring, and networking UNIX and/or NT based platforms.
- Experience creating, modifying, and deleting user accounts, performing system back-ups, and maintaining system configuration files.
- Fundamental understanding of operating systems and familiarity with either UNIX or NT commands or utilities at the user level.
- Experience with the installation and configuration of hardware, operating systems, and commercial software packages.
- Experience developing and implementing enterprise backup/recovery strategies, server configuration and consolidation, and verifying the health and status of the entire IT infrastructure.
- Experience providing support for enterprise services such as DNS, NFS, email services, security protection mechanisms, and the interoperability of UNIX and NT based systems.
- IAT Level II Certification.
Pay
$150,000.00 - $191,000.00 per year
