Senior Sterile Processing Technician
About the role
The Senior Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instrumentation, assembly and delivery of surgical procedure case carts, paring and replenishment of materials, and receiving and distribution of sterile processing supplies. The Senior Sterile Processing Technician must be able to decontaminate and assemble surgical instrumentation using an automated Instrument Tracking System. Selects appropriate method of sterilization, verify parameters, and documents sterility accurately and appropriately.
Responsibilities
- Decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instrumentation
- Assembly and delivery of surgical procedure case carts
- Paring and replenishment of materials
- Receiving and distribution of sterile processing supplies
Requirements
- Completion of formal Central Services Technician or Sterile Processing Technician course or successfully challenged Course test
- 5 years of Experience in sterile processing, central services, or surgical supply and equipment environment
Qualifications
- National Certified Registered Central Service Technician - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association
- National Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician - Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution
- National Certified Instrument Specialist - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association
Skills
- Ability to decontaminate and assemble surgical instrumentation using an automated Instrument Tracking System
- Select appropriate method of sterilization, verify parameters, and document sterility accurately and appropriately

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
