Senior Staff Software Engineer, Mobile
About the Role

As a Senior Staff Software Engineer, iOS, you'll lead the technical vision for our mobile organization, drive architectural alignment, and push Apple's ecosystem to its fullest potential.
Responsibilities
- Define and own the multi-year technical vision for ServiceTitan's iOS platform, establishing architecture principles, engineering standards, and platform frameworks.
- Lead the design of next-generation mobile frameworks and foundational systems serving tens of thousands of field technicians daily.
- Partner with executive and VP-level stakeholders across product, design, data, and backend to shape long-range roadmaps.
- Serve as the definitive technical authority for iOS, establishing alignment across engineering orgs and resolving complex cross-functional ambiguities.
- Identify and drive strategic technical investments, evaluating emerging Apple frameworks and industry trends.
- Architect scalable integrations with backend services via GraphQL, defining data access patterns.
- Champion and evolve ServiceTitan's use of The Composable Architecture (TCA) for shared state management, performance optimization, and modular design.
- Define the AI-assisted development strategy for iOS engineering, integrating tools like Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and Windsurf.
- Grow and mentor staff and senior engineers, setting the engineering bar for code quality, performance, and architectural integrity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 12+ years of mobile application development experience, with deep specialization in iOS.
- Expert-level mastery of Swift, with deep understanding of language internals, performance, and idiomatic design.
- Proven track record of defining and delivering architecture for large-scale mobile platforms.
- Strong hands-on experience with GraphQL and defining scalable data access patterns.
- Deep command of TCA, including shared state patterns, performance optimization, and modular decomposition.
- Exceptional ability to lead without authority, shaping technical direction through credibility and engineering judgment.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, articulating complex technical trade-offs to diverse audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience at the Senior Staff level, setting platform strategy across large engineering organizations.
- Track record of influencing company-wide engineering culture, authoring standards, or shaping engineering practices.
- Deep familiarity with large-scale distributed systems design and mobile/backend interfaces.
- Strong proficiency with SwiftUI and experience leading its adoption in complex iOS codebases.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with MVI architecture patterns and evaluating architectural trade-offs.
- Experience designing or owning CI/CD systems using tools like Bitrise or GitHub Actions.
- Experience establishing end-to-end test automation strategies.
- Open source contributions or public technical writing shaping iOS engineering practices.

Pay
For candidates in the United States, the salary ranges are:
- Zone 1 (CA, CT, DC, MD, MA, NJ, NY, VA, WA): $218,300 - $327,500 USD
- Zone 2 (All other US locations): $204,000 - $306,000 USD
International compensation varies by location and will be discussed during the hiring process. Total compensation includes an annual bonus, equity, and benefits.
