Senior/Staff Product Engineer (Creative Tools)

About the role

As a founding product engineer at Flick, you’ll sit at the intersection of engineering, design, and filmmaking. You won’t just build features — you’ll shape how people create films with AI. You will work directly with the founders, and have the opportunity to shape the future interface for AI visual storytelling.

Responsibilities

• Design and build product features end-to-end across frontend and backend.
• Rapidly prototype and iterate on new creative workflows with tight feedback loops.
• Work closely with founders on product direction, UX decisions, and feature prioritization.
• Translate ambiguous ideas into intuitive, high-quality user experiences.
• Continuously refine interaction details, polish, and usability.
• Help define the future of AI-native creative tools.

Requirements

• Strong full stack engineering skills (React, TypeScript, backend frameworks).
• Exceptional product sense and attention to UX details.
• Experience building creative tools. Can become an expert in creative technology in AI video production.
• Strong intuition for what makes a product feel simple, powerful, and delightful.
• Startup mindset: high ownership, high agency, high velocity.
• You are a creator yourself: filmmaker, video editor, animator, designer, or similar.
• Have experience in AI video generation.
• Have been a founder before.
• Have contributed in open-source projects, and coding for fun outside of regular work.
