About the role

As a Probe Card Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., within Test Solutions Engineering (TSE), Key Equipment Group (KEG), you will be responsible for the design and qualification of probe cards enabling Micron’s current and next-generation products. You will provide probe card-related technical direction across all Micron global Probe locations, working internally with Test, Assembly, Design, and Product Engineering teams, as well as High-Volume Manufacturing (HVM) site teams. You will collaborate with industry probe card suppliers to develop solutions enabling Micron’s roadmap. A typical day in this position requires creativity, tenacity, and innovation in deploying first-of-a-kind unique probe cards.

Responsibilities

  • Design & Strategy: Own probe card design specifications, rules, and bond pad layouts to drive a zero-defect culture and enable device roadmap requirements.
  • Technology Qualification: Qualify "First of a Kind" (FOAK) technologies and define new equipment specifications to ensure manufacturing data meets performance targets.
  • Technical Problem Solving: Debug pre-production issues and resolve tactical roadblocks through in-depth root-cause analysis and statistical data review.
  • Supplier & Site Management: Manage the global supplier base and lead cross-site meetings to align on technical requirements, quality, and operational adjustments.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Partner with internal peer groups and present technical insights to engineering leadership to drive cross-functional alignment.

Requirements

  • Experience & Education: 10+ years of hands-on probe card design experience; BS/AS degree or equivalent.
  • Technical Design: Strong grasp of analog circuits, component selection, SI/PI, and mechanical thermal properties (CTE matching).
  • Execution & Validation: Proficient in reading schematics/mechanical specs and hands-on validation using wafer test cells (Probers/Testers).
  • Analytical Tools: Mastery of 3D CAD software, statistics, data analysis, and Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Professional Skills: Highly self-initiated with the ability to manage multiple concurrent designs and communicate complex technical data to leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expertise in SI/PI, analog circuit component selection, and Material Science (thermal properties/CTE matching).
  • Proven success leading technical design reviews and chairing meetings across global manufacturing sites.
  • Expert-level DOE and statistical analysis to align manufacturing data with device roadmaps.
  • Experience and/or interest in developing Agentic AI workflows into current or future processes.
