Senior Staff Internal Communications

About the role
The Internal Communications Lead will inspire Aurorans and strengthen their connection to our mission. They will focus on proactive Internal Communications Strategies, develop and manage the editorial calendar for all internal communication channels, and own Executive Communications. They will also explore tooling and systems to improve employee engagement and information accessibility.
Responsibilities
- Develop communication strategies that help employees feel connected to our mission, understand the “why” behind core company priorities, and provide context for company decisions so that they understand how to prioritize their work.
- Develop initiatives that drive engagement and ensure employees feel connected to our leaders and one another.
- Develop and manage the editorial calendar for all internal communication channels.
- Develop Employer Brand Strategy & Employee Engagement: Collaborate with internal teams on the development and refinement of Aurora's employer brand. This involves working closely with our People and Marketing teams to define and articulate what makes Aurora a unique and desirable place to work.
- Own Executive Communications: Serve as an advisor to internal stakeholders, guiding them on communication strategies and ensuring consistency across all internal channels.
- Develop various internal materials, such as communication plans, executive and company emails, announcements, talking points, and executive briefing materials.
- Explore Tooling and Systems: Explore, evaluate, and manage how AI-powered tools and an integrated intranet can improve employee engagement and information accessibility.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in internal communications in the tech industry.
- Experience developing and executing company-wide internal communication strategies for rapidly scaling companies.
- Excellent written and verbal communicator who can translate complex topics into simple language.
- Proven experience as a trusted communications advisor to internal stakeholders.
- Experience launching and managing company-wide systems like intranet and AI tools that help employees be more efficient.

- Strong production skills that will help use a variety of communications channels to reach employees.
Benefits
This is an individual contributor role. The base salary range for this position is $163,000 - $261,000 per year. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
