About the role
The Senior Staff Engineer - Enterprise Messaging and Exchange is responsible for guiding the invention, reliability, security, and evolution of NVIDIA's global employee communications and collaboration platforms. The role involves deep ownership of Microsoft Exchange (on-premises, hybrid, and Exchange Online/O365), Azure-based services, and SMTP/IMAP integrations.
Responsibilities
- Architect, implement, and operate highly available messaging solutions using Microsoft Exchange (on-prem & SE), hybrid/Exchange Online (O365), Public Folders, SMTP, Active Directory, and Azure integrations.
- Plan and execute server upgrades and monthly patching; ensure configurations and changes meet compliance and audit requirements.
- Monitor health, performance, and capacity; analyze logs/traces and protocol flows to prevent incidents, minimize downtime, and optimize throughput and user experience.
- Provide expert-level diagnosis and resolution for complex mail flow issues; deep knowledge of SMTP/IMAP, connectors, transport rules, and messaging architecture.
- Implement encryption, email authentication (SPF/DKIM/DMARC), and anti-virus/anti-spam protections (e.g., Microsoft Defender); maintain secure configurations and hardening baselines.
- Lead/assist initiatives such as migrations, tenant consolidations, and M&A; define requirements and integration points with enterprise messaging and exchange apps and services.
- Handle day-to-day operations and escalations; mentor engineers/architects and foster a culture of learning, documentation, SOPs, run-books, and enabling support team.
- Partner on the management and operations of large-scale enterprise SaaS collaboration platforms (e.g., Slack, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Google Workspace), including onboarding, provisioning, policy governance, and lifecycle management.
- Build strategy to keep enhancing the messaging and collaboration ecosystems with evolving technologies, including AI-driven automation of operations and administration.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 8+ years of proven experience architecting and managing Exchange Server (on-prem & SE), hybrid/Exchange Online (O365), Public Folders, SMTP, Active Directory, and Azure integrations.
- Solid understanding of Exchange architecture, including DAGs (Database Availability Groups) and hybrid configurations.
- Extremely motivated, highly passionate, and curious about new technologies. Takes pride in their work and strives to achieve incredible results; superb communication and planning skills.
- Ability to work successfully with multi-functional teams, principals, and architects; coordinates optimally across organizational boundaries and geographies.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.
Qualifications
- Experience leading large-scale messaging platforms and driving resolution for critical severity issues.
- Experience managing large-scale enterprise SaaS platforms — such as Slack, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, or Google Workspace — including onboarding, day-to-day operations, and lifecycle management.
- Ability to automate operations and administration of enterprise services leveraging AI, agents, and modern automation frameworks.
- Passion to leverage Agentic AI to drive reliability, reduce toil, and improve the employee experience at scale.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation is crucial; Python scripting is a plus.
- Knowledge of networking concepts related to email (DNS, VIP routing, etc.).

Benefits
- NVIDIA offers a competitive compensation package, including base salary ranging from $168,000 to $264,500 for Level 4 and $196,000 to $310,500 for Level 5, depending on experience and location.

Base salary range: $168,000 - $264,500 for Level 4, and $196,000 - $310,500 for Level 5.
Schedule
