Senior Staff Civil/Geotechnical Engineer

Delve Underground is seeking a Civil/Geotechnical Engineer with 2+ years of relevant experience to join our Columbus, Ohio team. The ideal candidate will have experience in geotechnical design, stability analysis, seismic response analysis, and tunnel/shaft design.

Responsibilities

  • Geotechnical design and reporting (engineering, data, and baseline reports)
  • Support geotechnical investigation programs including planning, permitting, implementation, data reporting, and writing interpretative reports
  • Stability analysis and retaining wall/excavation support design
  • Seismic response analysis, such as liquefaction analysis and ground deformation analysis
  • Aid with tunnel and shaft design
  • Work under the direction of senior engineers, providing technical oversight and review
  • Contribute to a variety of office and field assignments
  • Create drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical memoranda that present the basis of design
  • Collaborate with a team on complex, multi-discipline projects
  • Show strong writing and communication skills, able to communicate effectively with internal staff and clients

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geotechnical/Civil or Geological Engineering
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Relevant coursework or experience in geotechnical engineering, soil and rock mechanics, subsurface investigation methods, foundation engineering, and finite element analysis
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments and priorities
  • Field experience on trenchless or tunneling projects preferred
  • Strong analytical and technical communication skills
  • Willingness to work in the field and travel for short-term assignments to remote locations
  • Valid driver’s license required

Pay

$71,588 - $129,802
