Responsibilities
- Geotechnical design and reporting (engineering, data, and baseline reports).
- Support geotechnical investigation programs including planning, permitting, implementation, data reporting, and writing interpretative reports.
- Stability analysis and retaining wall/excavation support design.
- Seismic response analysis, such as liquefaction analysis and ground deformation analysis.
- Aid with tunnel and shaft design.
- Work under the direction of senior engineers, who provide technical oversight and review.
- Work on a variety of office and field assignments.
- Develop drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical memoranda that present the basis of design.
- Work as an integral member of a team on complex, multi-discipline projects.
- Demonstrate good writing and communications skills and ability to communicate with internal staff and clients.
Qualifications
- BS or MS in Geotechnical/Civil or Geological Engineering.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification or ability to obtain in 6 months.
- Completion of relevant coursework or experience in several of the following: geotechnical engineering, soil and rock mechanics, subsurface investigation methods, foundation engineering, and finite element analysis.
- Ability to manage a number of concurrent assignments and priorities.
- Field experience on trenchless or tunneling project is preferred.
- Strong analytical and technical communication skills.
- Willingness to work in the field and travel for short-term assignments to remote locations.
- Drivers license required.
