Remote position based in Georgia; some in-person meetings may be required. Full-time, temporary role with an estimated duration of 3 months.
Pay
$80.00 – $85.00 per hour.
Schedule
8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST.
Requirements
- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in the State of Georgia.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of legal practice with demonstrable verdict experience within insurance defense.
- First chair jury trial experience is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Corp-to-corp (C2C) arrangements are not available.
Responsibilities
- Analyze complex legal and factual issues; conduct extensive legal research and develop well-reasoned strategies.
- Independently create and present defense strategies on behalf of clients.
- Prepare complex pleadings, written discovery, motions, and briefs in support of defense strategies.
- Attend hearings, court appearances, depositions, and trials with autonomy.
- Partner with Claims Partners to achieve optimal results for insured clients.
- Provide timely communications, legal advice, and services to clients on legal and factual issues.
- Communicate professionally with courts, witnesses, opposing counsel, and co-counsel.
- Facilitate prompt, efficient disposition of assigned cases.
- Prepare and present witnesses and evidence at trials, hearings, arbitrations, and alternative dispute resolutions.
- Research, draft, file, and argue substantive motions on behalf of clients.
- Provide in-house training to junior associates and/or claims partners.
- Attend continuing legal education seminars to maintain professional expertise.
