Senior Staff Attorney

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Staff Attorney to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will focus on managing moderately complex and high-exposure litigation matters from strategy through resolution. The attorney will partner closely with claims professionals and internal stakeholders to deliver practical legal guidance, develop defense approaches, and advance efficient case outcomes in a technology-enabled environment. The position requires strong courtroom readiness, excellent legal research and writing skills, and the ability to handle cases with minimal supervision while maintaining the highest professional standards. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $132,400 – $198,600 annually Responsibilities Handle moderately complex and high-exposure litigation cases. Analyze legal and factual issues, conduct extensive legal research, and develop defense strategies. Prepare pleadings, written discovery, depositions, motions, and briefs with minimal supervision. Provide timely legal advice and services to clients and claims partners in a technology-driven environment. Communicate respectfully with all parties involved in litigation, adhering to professional standards. Ensure efficient disposition of assigned cases. Independently prepare and present witnesses and evidence at trials and hearings. Qualifications Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school. Licensed to practice in New York State. Minimum of 7 years of insurance defense legal experience. Member in good standing of the New York State Bar Association. Strong legal research and writing skills. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Strong communication and technological skills, including proficiency with AI tools. Knowledge of area courts.
