Responsibilities

• Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the Credit Union's general ledger, accounting records, and financial reporting processes.
• Prepare and post journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and complete month-end close activities.
• Reconcile, monitor, and maintain key general ledger accounts; research, analyze, and resolve variances and balancing discrepancies.
• Monitor liquidity levels and support effective cash management activities.
• Reconcile, monitor, and maintain investment portfolio accounting records and related accounts.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, board reports, and other management reports.
• Prepare and submit regulatory and tax filings, including the quarterly NCUA Call Report (Form 5300), ensuring compliance with applicable requirements.
• Aid in the development, implementation, and review of Accounting Department policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory standards, and internal controls.
• Provide accounting guidance and support to departments by interpreting financial transactions, reports, and accounting requirements.
• Provide professional, knowledgeable service to members and employees and may assist with training, work direction, and coordination of accounting staff activities.

Requirements

• Three to five years of similar or related experience.
• A bachelor's degree, or achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., accounting certifications in lieu of a degree).
• Work effectively in a high-volume and fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks simultaneously and accurately.
• Have strong communication skills and successful experience with inter-departmental teamwork.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel.
• Experience in a credit union or community banking preferred.

Qualifications

Pay

Salary Range: $35 - $45 per hour
