Senior Specialist, Systems Engineer - Networks

About the role

We are looking for a professional with strong knowledge of Systems Engineering and a background in Networking to support the sustainment, assessment, and development of a diverse Network team. This role involves participating in proposal and bid reviews while ensuring adherence to L3Harris’ policies, vision, values, and goals. The Systems Engineer will communicate within and outside the SE functional group to gain cooperation on operational processes, practices, and procedures and contribute to improvements in systems and processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead a diversely skilled engineering team in the design, implementation, and testing of WAN/LAN/SATCOM-based network systems.
• Translate customer system requirements into DOORS/Jira.
• Travel approximately 25% of the year, based on business needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience, or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience, or in lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI Clearance.
• Demonstrated experience in Systems Engineering with an emphasis on Networking.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Network Security policies and practices.
• Demonstrated experience with Linux operating systems and networking.
• Demonstrated experience with LAN/WAN routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, EVPN).

Skills

• Prior military service is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated experience in Network and Systems Support/Installation, Cisco/Brocade/Dell IOS, DHCP, DNS, and TCP/IP is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated experience with network packet inspection tools (WireShark, TCPDump) is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated experience with multicast routing is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated knowledge of MPLS and VPNs is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated experience with HAIPE devices is desired.
