Senior Specialist, Sourcing Operations and Production Planning
About the role
A day in the life of a Senior Specialist, Sourcing Operations and Production Planning at VF combines sourcing operations and production planning responsibilities, supporting end-to-end production execution across an assigned portfolio of factories. As the primary on-site liaison, you will manage purchase order (PO) processes, monitor production performance, and ensure alignment with VF’s quality standards, production timelines, and operational expectations. This role requires frequent travel to factory sites across designated locations.
Responsibilities
- Own PO management, including creation, exceptions, and change requests.
- Monitor end-to-end production to ensure OTP/CRD, quality, and operational targets are met; track KPIs, escalate issues, and drive corrective actions.
- Identify risks during pre-production and drive mitigation actions.
- Collaborate with vendors, factories, and cross-functional teams to ensure on-time delivery.
- Resolve daily production issues (e.g., materials, capacity, output) in real time.
- Ensure adherence to SOPs, product standards, and support high-risk production start-ups.
- Support automation, process improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain vendor performance (scorecards, audits) and support compliance programs (RSO, sustainability).
- Provide reporting, analytics, and actionable insights to management.
- Support QA on root cause analysis and CAP implementation.
- Perform structured and routine tasks to enable real-time issue resolution and enforce adherence to SOPs.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in production operations or technical roles.
- Knowledge of the product category, including manufacturing processes, materials, and construction methods.
- Experience working with overseas factories and multi-cultural factory management teams.
- Strong communication skills and ability to solve problems, make decisions, and work effectively under pressure.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Able to collaborate with peers and superiors while building relationships globally.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, PLM systems, and production planning tools.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle required for travel to vendor locations (mileage reimbursement provided).
- Ability to travel extensively within the region (~30%).
Preferred Qualifications
- Product development or technical expertise.
- Bilingual in Spanish.
Pay
Hiring range: $80,000.00 USD - $100,000.00 USD annually. This position is eligible for additional compensation awards, including an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential.
