About the role

The Sr Operational Excellence Specialist will lead the successful deployment of improvement projects aligned with the NBS Next initiatives. This role engages with all functions and levels of the ICS organization to teach and develop through hands-on coaching, mentoring teams to create value by identifying and eliminating waste. The position also serves as the conduit between the business and IT, focusing on developing, validating, and deploying related reports, tools, and process improvements. Successful implementation will improve Nordson’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) by building a strong culture of continuous improvement based on common fundamentals, capabilities, and implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, train, and coach all levels of employees in Continuous Improvement fundamentals, driving the culture of NBS Next across all functions and levels.
  • Compile data, manage databases, ensure data integrity, build reports, and drive continuous improvement of information metrics and data reporting.
  • Master complex data analytics.
  • Help define, execute, and lead the short- and long-term strategy for Continuous Improvement initiatives for the ICS Business.
  • Drive NBS standardization and best practice sharing across the ICS Business globally.
  • Lead implementation of CI initiatives and problem-solving projects in collaboration with various business functions to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity, and Cost (SQDIPC), as well as commercial and engineering functions.
  • Maintain a project pipeline to support divisional strategic business initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, or a relevant field is preferred; 12 years of relevant experience is required in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of eight to twelve years of SAP experience in Engineering Change Management, Production Planning, Material Requirements Planning, or Shop Floor Control preferred.
  • 4-6 years of progressive continuous improvement experience demonstrating business acumen, leadership, and ability to drive results.
  • Proficiency in Lean thinking with application in both operations and transactional environments.
  • Change management or transformational experience required.
  • Experience leading process mapping sessions via SIPOC or comparable processes.
  • Experience building and tracking projects with a detailed project plan.

Travel is estimated at 20% domestic and international.
