Senior Specialist, Mass Properties Engineer

About the role

L3Harris MMG Division seeks a Senior Specialist, Mass Properties Engineer for their onsite facility in Waco, TX. This role involves conducting mass properties analyses for aircraft modification programs, preparing detailed analyses, and supporting program teams.

Responsibilities

• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
• Frequently interact with numerous other departments in carrying out assigned duties.
• Involved in the day-to-day support of the aircraft Weight & Balance data/logbooks, including participation in and updates for aircraft inventories, modifications, and weighings.
• Maintains the highest ethical standards.
• Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
• Willingness and ability to work any shift, weekends, and overtime as required.
• Assists with two-person lifts; works in narrow spaces; bends, kneels, lifts, pushes, pulls; uses ladders; works in hot and cold environments.
• Prioritizes, organizes, and effectively tracks a variety of assignments.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
• Minimum 4 years experience with Aircraft Weight & Balance: weight analysis of designed parts, W&B logbook development and tracking, aircraft CG plotting and tracking, weight distribution analysis, weighing of parts, assemblies, and full aircraft.

Qualifications

• Preferred additional skills include experience with design software packages such as Nx, Creo, CATIA, SolidWorks, experience with the AWBS system, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Software Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
