Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the electrical Integration of sensors and optics into space system payloads.
  • Designs cables and wire harnesses that interconnect electronic equipment within the vehicle.
  • Generates system cable interconnect diagrams, point-to-point cable wiring schematics, cable lengths, routing details, and cable BOM.
  • Generates test fixtures and test procedures for system level tests.
  • Applies basic technical knowledge to analyze, investigate and resolve assigned routine engineering problems.
  • Familiarity with AS9100/ISO9001 industry standards.
  • Develops appropriate documentation of findings and implemented solutions and communicates results to project engineering staff.
  • Works in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
  • Collaborates with program management, engineering, and operations in both new product introduction and production environments to meet production/program goals.
  • Solves engineering issues with a hands-on approach, utilizing extensive technical knowledge to develop creative and effective solutions.
  • Utilizes data and analytics to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to improve manufacturing operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Science discipline with a minimum of 6 years of experience in manufacturing engineering or systems engineering. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • Ability to obtain a secret or top-secret clearance.

Preferred Additional Skills

  • Knowledge and experience with Lean and 6 Sigma tools such as 5S, value stream mapping, Kaizen, process control, etc. Six Sigma Lean Green Belt or higher certification preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Able to effectively multi-task, support multiple programs simultaneously.
  • Experience with DFM and DFA.
  • Experience with Optical systems and technology.
  • Experience with NPI. Proven track record of solving complex engineering problems and implementing innovative solutions in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant engineering software and tools.

Benefits

  • In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Massachusetts is $102,000 - $189,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
