About the role

This role involves conducting accounting services on behalf of assigned clients and moderately complex funds, including determining net asset values, calculating fund performance, allocating expenses, and preparing reports. Performing complex Fund/Client Accounting responsibilities such as driving Service Improvement plans, enhancing processes, and reviewing specialist work. Providing input into methodologies and checking the work of more junior team members. Resolving reconciliation of accounts for more complex or atypical transactions and reviewing work of junior team members. Drafting reports for clients regarding the performance of complex funds and reviewing draft reports completed by more junior staff. Regularly interacting with clients to answer questions and resolve issues regarding fund reports and accounting processes.

Responsibilities

  • Determine net asset values and calculate fund performance.
  • Allocate expenses and prepare reports.
  • Drive Service Improvement plans and enhance processes.
  • Review specialist work and check methodologies.
  • Resolve reconciliation of accounts for complex or atypical transactions.
  • Draft reports for clients regarding the performance of complex funds.
  • Interact with clients to answer questions and resolve issues.
  • Evaluate GAAP and/or IFRS rules to determine their impact on BNY Mellon fund accounting practices.

Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Big 4 accounting firm experience is preferred. No direct reports. Provides guidance to less experienced team members. May have people management responsibilities in some geographies. Contributes to the achievement of related teams objectives.

Skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail.

The expected base salary for this position when employment commences can be found in the Job Info section at the bottom of the posting. Base salary offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Schedule

This role location is Lake Mary, Florida. There is a 4-day in-office expectation.
