About the role

The Finance Systems & Transformation Sr Specialist will serve as a key partner to the Finance organization, providing expertise across finance systems, with a strong focus on SAP S/4HANA, while also supporting broader technology and transformation initiatives. This role will act as the bridge between Finance and IT, helping design, optimize, and scale finance processes and systems to support a modern, data-driven organization. The individual will play a critical role in shaping how Finance leverages technology—across SAP and other platforms—to improve reporting, automation, and decision-making.

What you'll do

  • Finance Systems Strategy & Ownership
    • Serve as a trusted advisor to Finance on system capabilities, with SAP S/4HANA as a core platform
    • Help define and evolve the Finance systems landscape, including ERP, reporting, planning, and integrations
    • Partner with IT and external teams to align system capabilities with business needs
  • SAP Functional Expertise (Core Focus Area)
    • Act as the primary SME for SAP Finance (FI/CO modules)
    • Provide guidance on SAP functionality, configuration options, and best practices
    • Translate Finance requirements into SAP functional designs and support delivery
    • Ensure SAP solutions align with Finance processes, controls, and reporting needs
  • Broader Technology & Transformation Initiatives
    • Support initiatives beyond SAP, including reporting, planning, data, and automation
    • Evaluate new tools and technologies to enhance Finance capabilities
    • Contribute to building a scalable Finance technology ecosystem
  • Finance Process Optimization
    • Advise on and improve core Finance processes including planning, close, and cost management
    • Ensure alignment between systems and Finance workflows
    • Drive standardization and simplification across Finance
  • Reporting & Data Enablement
    • Define and enhance Finance reporting capabilities
    • Enable real-time reporting and improved KPI visibility
    • Support development of a single source of truth for Finance data
  • Business Partnership
    • Act as a Finance partner across Accounting, FP&A, Controlling, Tax, and Treasury
    • Facilitate requirements gathering and prioritization
    • Support adoption, training, and change management
  • Process Improvement & Transformation
    • Identify opportunities to automate and improve Finance operations
    • Support system enhancements and roadmap planning
    • Drive improvements in transparency and governance

Location & Schedule

This role may be based out of the Scout Motors corporate headquarters in Charlotte, NC. This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events. Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time. Occasional travel may be required. Valid driver's license required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in Finance systems and/or SAP Finance roles
  • Strong understanding of Finance processes (close, FP&A, cost accounting, reporting)
  • Experience translating business requirements into system solutions
  • Hands-on SAP Finance experience (FI/CO)

Preferred Skills

  • SAP S/4HANA experience
  • Exposure to multiple Finance systems (planning, reporting, analytics)
  • Manufacturing or automotive experience
  • Experience with reporting tools (SAP Analytics Cloud, Power BI)
  • Exposure to automation or transformation initiatives

Pay

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Initial base salary range = $100,000.00 - $125,000.00. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
