Senior Specialist, Continuous Improvement
About the role
We are currently seeking a Senior Specialist, Continuous Improvement to join our team in Culpeper, Virginia. You will be a part of our Senior Leadership team, supporting continuous improvement / lean manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
Inspire, coach, and support personnel at all levels in the realization of continuous improvement through targeted projects and the site's Operational Excellence framework. Work with various functional leaders to drive rapid adoption and propagation of industry best practices. Oversee the site's progress across eight functional "pillars" and 55 "core elements".
Coach and collaborate with senior leadership team in support of the site's annual strategic planning cycle.
Ensure that improvement projects are completed in a timely manner and deliver expected value, tracking progress against site financial impact goals.
Interact daily with shop floor personnel, advocating for participation in and support for continuous improvement projects and initiatives. Build trust through transparency, professionalism, and personal accountability.
Facilitate process improvement events (kaizen, VSM, 3P, etc.) as needed to support site, function, and program needs.
Train and coach employees in the proper use of lean and continuous improvement tools, processes, and methodologies. Oversee the overall maturity of CI capabilities to meet the growing/changing needs of the site.
Network with colleagues at other sites to share and borrow best practices and to ensure that enterprise-level systems function efficiently and effectively. Render a concise weekly progress report to Senior Leadership.
Other duties as assigned, which may include support for the site's business resilience planning.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant Project Management and Continuous Improvement experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
MBA and/or Six Sigma certification is preferred, as is experience managing continuous improvement, including the planning and facilitation of LEAN events.
Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience with Integrated Master Schedules or Microsoft Project.
Good communication and interpersonal skills with a hands-on approach to process improvements.
Able to be flexible, approachable, good imagination to help develop outside of box thinking and important to be able to multi-task and be very well organized.

Pay
The salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C. area, Denver, or NYC areas is $88,000 - $164,000.
The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland Ohio, Vermont and Virginia is $76,500 – $141,500.
