Senior Continuous Improvement Specialist

Job Description

A Day in the Life

• Provides consultation within the Munson Healthcare System.
• Partners with senior leaders and others to drive improvements in strategic initiatives, operational quality, efficiency and problem solving.
• Has a strong understanding of the Munson Healthcare Alignment Framework (MAF) and principle-based leadership behaviors that align, enable and improve the organizational work of continuous improvement.
• Possesses in-depth knowledge of strategy deployment, quality management and lean improvement principles with experience in implementing improvement initiatives.
• Edits, mentors, and coaches team members and leadership in the work required to accomplish measurable operational, business and clinical process improvements.
• Works with individuals, departments, care teams, value streams and/or service lines throughout the system, adjusting to the needs of varied customer populations and work settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business, Nursing, or other professional discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
• Ten or more years of leadership and improvement experience gained through the implementation of successful, organization-wide operational improvement projects in the healthcare industry and in an organization that is a size and complexity comparable to Munson Healthcare is required.
• Leverage of Lean/LeanSixSigma certification or formal training and equivalent experience in the successful application of these methods with a demonstrated record of achieving favorable results is required.
• Must be able to communicate and interact effectively with employees from all areas of the organization including physicians and executives.
• This role requires strong listening and influencing skills, a high level of emotional intelligence and strong written, oral, visual and presentation skills as well as the ability to work collaboratively with organizational leaders as a change agent.

Preferred Requirements

• Clinical experience in nursing, medicine, pharmacy or allied health profession is valued.
• Masters in Engineering, Business or Healthcare preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Information

• Munson Healthcare requires all employees be vaccinated or have lab confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella.
