Senior Space Vehicle Project Advisor
About the role
The Exploration Company is developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle designed for future missions. This position involves assisting the Chief of Engineering on the Nyx project, supporting the engineering team in design, qualification, and certification, and managing projects including early vehicle and subsystems development.
Responsibilities
- Lead assigned System and Subsystem Projects including the management of cost, schedule, technical quality and risk
- Support Business Development and Sales efforts with local and state-wide government and commercial customers
- Build and maintain relationships with government agencies and commercial partners
- Develop and maintain US government and commercial proposals, integrating cost, schedule, and risk elements
- Support the engineering team in design, development, and certification activities, and assist in the execution of verification tasks
Requirements
- Required:
- Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical, systems, electrical engineering or related technical field
- 10+ years of experience in space systems project management, systems engineering, or space systems development
- Broad knowledge across spacecraft sub-systems, re-entry technologies, and/or crew systems
- Experience across the space systems lifecycle including requirements definition, design, assembly, integration, test, and operations
- Experience with ISS resupply, LEO station logistics, or exploration programs
- Knowledge and experience with US contracting processes, including NASA and commercial space procurement
- Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary international teams
- Desirable:
- Familiarity with U.S. aerospace regulations, FAA licensing, and export control (ITAR/EAR)
- Previous experience working in a startup or fast-growing aerospace company
