Senior Sourcing Professional

About the role

Ensure strategic sourcing for assigned direct and indirect material spend, build strong supplier partnerships, and support quality, delivery performance, and total cost goals.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier performance and sourcing activities in partnership with engineering, quality, production, and buying teams to support business and operational goals.
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies that align with division priorities, strengthen the supplier base, and support long-term business performance.
• Build and maintain strategic supplier partnerships, oversee supplier selection and negotiations, and help ensure supplier capacity, quality, and delivery performance.
• Lead sourcing projects, support new supplier implementation, and contribute sourcing expertise in R&D projects, including target cost and supplier involvement.
• Manage contracts, monitor supplier markets and trends, and ensure adherence to Sandvik purchasing policies, code of conduct, EHS, and sustainability targets.

Requirements

We're looking for a strategic senior sourcing professional with strong commercial and technical understanding, proven supplier management experience, and the ability to work effectively across functions.

This is a great opportunity for some travel (approx. 30%) and you may need to work some early morning hours.

• Strategic Sourcing Expertise: Strong knowledge of strategic purchasing, supplier relationship management, negotiations, and total cost of ownership principles.
• Business & Technical Acumen: Understanding of financing fundamentals, agreement law, risk analysis, supplier audits, and manufacturing, supply chain, and R&D processes.
• Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or a related field is a plus. Additional training, education, or experience in sales or strategic procurement is valued.

Qualifications

• Core Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, communication, collaboration, and change management skills, with fluency in English.
• Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in strategic purchasing or sourcing, with experience in mechanical engineering, production, purchasing, or R&D environments.
