About the Role
The Sr. Sourcing Manager will lead the sourcing team supporting the Grid Automation (GA) strategic business unit of Hubbell Utility Solutions. This role involves managing a team of Sourcing Managers, Specialists, and Agents to deliver material cost reduction targets and ensure business unit requirements are met. The position serves as a liaison between Strategic Sourcing and the business unit, executing category strategies and ensuring on-time project delivery.
The role also focuses on developing and leading a supplier sole-source de-risk strategy, with a primary emphasis on reviewing spend for casting, forging, stamping, electronics, and fiberglass products by region. The Sr. Sourcing Manager will work to reduce risk while considering total cost of ownership and collaborate with Hubbell Corporate Sourcing to develop best-cost supply options.
Responsibilities
- Provide overall direction to the sourcing team supporting the Grid Automation (GA) business unit.
- Manage a team of Sourcing Managers, Specialists, and Agents to deliver material cost reduction targets.
- Act as a liaison between Strategic Sourcing and the business unit to ensure requirements are met and category strategies resolve business unit problems.
- Ensure on-time delivery of projects and execution of category strategies.
- Develop and lead a supplier sole-source de-risk strategy for Hubbell Utility Solutions.
- Review spend for casting, forging, stamping, electronics, and fiberglass products by region and determine action plans to reduce risk while considering total cost of ownership.
- Provide leadership to Hubbell Utility Solutions and coordinate with Hubbell Corporate Sourcing to develop best-cost supply options.
- Balance workload and strategy creation across multiple Hubbell Utility Systems Business Units to optimize risk reduction.
- Work with internal stakeholders on productivity improvement strategies and ongoing supply chain performance management.
Requirements
- BS in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or Engineering.
- 5-10 years of validated experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working with manufacturing engineering and program management teams.
- Experience in negotiation, both internal and external, within a matrixed corporate environment.
- Knowledge of materials management, Just-In-Time (JIT), Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), and working capital.
- CPSM or APICS certification is a plus.
