Xometry is seeking an experienced and charismatic engineer for a critical customer-facing Solutions Engineer role. This role supports Sales by providing technical expertise in electromechanical devices and products, blending sales, vendor management, and internal capability development. Responsibilities
- Grow Xometry’s business in wire harnesses, junction boxes, PCBs, and other electronics and electronics-adjacent systems and products.
- Develop and manage a micronetwork of manufacturing partners.
- Partner with Account Executives to drive account growth and retention, both remote and onsite.
- Discover, illuminate, digest, organize, and execute major projects.
- Convert customer requirements into manufacturing work instructions.
- Develop procedures and guidelines to ensure Xometry can digest and execute electromechanical projects.
- Troubleshoot work-in-progress and guide operations teams to successful outcomes.
- Combine customer knowledge, Xometry partner knowledge, and Xometry system knowledge to rapidly address customer needs and shepherd projects to delivery.
- Provide project management and oversight on complex opportunities.
Requirements
- 10+ years of relevant experience in electrical engineering and manufacturing roles.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar (required).
- Experience using Xometry’s services from a customer and/or partner perspective (optimal).
- Deep familiarity with the methods, materials, culture, and specifications of electromechanical manufacturing.
- Expertise in mechanical fabrication methods including CNC, sheet metal, additive, and molding (desirable).
- Experience running manufacturing projects in Asia and/or Europe.
- Familiarity with ISO9001, AS9100d, ITAR, NIST, and other common and critical compliance and certification requirements.
- Deep familiarity with IPC standards, Gerber files, and common harness and PCB testing equipment/procedures.
- Ability to travel to customer and/or partner sites as needed (25%-35% travel is typical).
- Proficiency in Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, extending into remote/digital environments.
