About the role
Amazon Web Services is looking for a highly motivated Solutions Architect to help accelerate our growing ISV Partner business as part of the World-Wide Public-Sector practice. You will be focused on ISV partners in the Enterprise resource planning (ERP) and Human capital management (HCM) space. As a Solutions Architect within AWS, you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build broad use of Amazon's utility computing web services (e.g., AWS EC2, AWS S3, AWS RDS, and AWS CloudFront) directly with customers and our ecosystem of system integrators and solution providers.
Key job responsibilities
- Helping our customers to design and create cloud computing architectures
- Deep-dive technical discussions around design and a deep curiosity to always keep your technical skills current while maintaining a pulse on industry trends
- Lead complex, multi-service architecture designs workloads on AWS, driving end-to-end technical strategy for public sector customers
- Develop and deliver thought leadership content (blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures) specific to Databricks/Data & AI on AWS
- Mentor junior SAs and contribute to organizational scaling through reusable artifacts and best practices
- Identify and drive product feature requests (PFRs) based on customer feedback to influence AWS service roadmap
- Own the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects; defining implementation architectures, responding to RFPs, developing a deep expertise in the AWS technologies as well as broad know-how around how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform
- Be a subject matter expert on security as it relates to customer applications and services
- Provide exceptional technical design and take an exceptional approach with our customers while partnering with a world class sales and business development team
- Help capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solution architect community
- Gain the opportunity to learn from, collaborate with, and educate some of the brightest technical minds in the industry today across the breadth of enterprise architecture
Basic qualifications
- 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
- 5+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
- 3+ years of working with Data & AI related technologies, including, but not limited to, AI/ML (Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning), GenAI (Generative AI), Analytics, Database, and/or Storage experience
- Experience in GenAI deployments
Preferred qualifications
- Experience working with end user or developer communities
- 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
- Experience leading or developing high quality, enterprise scale software products using a structured system development lifecycle
- Experience in a technical role within a sales organization
- Knowledge of AWS services including compute, storage, networking, security, databases, machine learning, and serverless technologies
- Databricks and Data experience preferred

Pay
- USA, NY, New York: $169,000.00 - $228,600.00 USD annually
- USA, VA, Arlington: $153,600.00 - $207,800.00 USD annually
- Final compensation determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location; package also includes sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs)
