Senior Solutions Architect, Retail, Restaurant, Consumer Packaging - Greenfield
About the role
The Senior Solutions Architect engages with customers to understand their business drivers, assess application portfolios, design secure, reliable and cost-effective cloud native architectures. They partner with customers, AWS Sales and other AWS teams to create solutions that address customer business problems and accelerate the adoption of AWS services.
Responsibilities
- Owning the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects
- Working cross-organizationally to facilitate widespread use and adoption of the AWS platform
- Developing a deep expertise in the AWS technologies as well as broad know-how around how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform
- Representing AWS well within the customer’s environment and driving discussions with senior personnel regarding trade-offs, best practices, and risk mitigation
- Thinking strategically about business, product, and technical challenges
Requirements
- 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
- 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
- Ability to travel, including out of state, up to 20% of the time
Qualifications
- 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
- Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud
- Experience architecting/operating solutions built on AWS
- Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients
Skills
The ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record in software/technology sales or consulting. They should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, products, and technical challenges. The Solutions Architect is a very technical role - you must be broadly competent across many areas of technology (infrastructure, security, devops, databases, application development, analytics, AI/ML, Generative AI) and deep in at least 2-3 of those areas.
