Senior Solutions Architect, Great Lakes Higher Education

About the role

Amazon Web Services is seeking a highly motivated Solutions Architect to help accelerate the growth of our business. This role involves helping customers implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solving technical problems, with a focus on the latest AWS technologies.

Responsibilities

• Owning the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects
• Defining implementation architectures, responding to Request for Proposals (RFPs), and developing deep expertise in AWS technologies
• Being a subject matter expert on security as it relates to customer applications and services
• Providing exceptional technical design and thought leadership to customers while collaborating with a sales and business development team
• Leading efforts to capture and share best-practice knowledge among the AWS solution architect community

Requirements

• 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
• 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
• 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking experience (preferred)
• Experience working with end user or developer communities (preferred)
• Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients (preferred)

Qualifications

• Technical presentation experience – White board, small and large group presentations
• Technical – Web Services development/deployment experience, cloud computing
• Operational – Web site/services operations, management, and security
• Ability to travel 30%

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
