About the role
The Senior Solution Architect at Children’s National Hospital leads the design and deployment of complex data solutions tailored to meet business objectives. This role involves selecting and implementing the right technology stack, optimizing relational databases, and developing lakehouse strategies. The Senior Solution Architect also constructs and refines sophisticated data models and defines detailed data structures and nomenclature. They evaluate and integrate new data sources, ensuring they meet high standards of quality. Additionally, they excel in visualizing and presenting data solutions to ensure clarity in addressing the problem and providing actionable insights.
Responsibilities
- Select and implement the right technology stack for complex data solutions
- Optimize relational databases and develop lakehouse strategies
- Construct and refine sophisticated data models
- Evaluate and integrate new data sources, ensuring they meet high standards of quality
- Visualize and present data solutions to ensure clarity in addressing the problem and providing actionable insights
- Mentor junior architects and contribute to best practices
Requirements
- Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative/statistical or business field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science)
- Master's Degree preferred
- Minimum Work Experience: 6 years of related experience
- Experience working in a heavily regulated industry, with healthcare a plus
- Advanced knowledge of product management
- Experience working with global distributed multicultural teams
- Experience with agile leadership
- Experience with building, delivering, and maintaining production-ready products
- Knowledge of statistical data analysis and machine learning such as linear models, time series forecasting, neural network, random forest, and NLP models
- Expert in Python coding and utilization of machine learning and statistical packages for modeling
- Experience with database skills, SQL, NoSQL, and coding for ETL

- Aid architects to validate and fix information management issues related to data quality framework (completeness, accuracy, availability, timeliness, consistency, etc.)
- Manage data dictionary to improve documentation and coordination
- Participate in building enterprise architecture information blueprints and data models that illustrate how information is stored, processed, and accessed in the enterprise
- Lead data architecture, data sourcing, data flow, and solution discussions for data initiatives
- Participate in enterprise information architecture discussions around needs and alignment to enterprise goals
- Collaborate on data-related business requirements and perform data architecture reviews
- Translate organizational objectives into actionable architectural plans
- Oversee tools and processes to enhance system performance and efficiency
- Drive process improvements to optimize healthcare technology operations
- Evaluate and recommend emerging healthcare technologies
