Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of comprehensive test plans and test cases for embedded software running on industrial and electromechanical systems.
  • Design, implement, and maintain automated and manual test frameworks and scripts to enhance testing efficiency and coverage across both software-only and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) environments.
  • Collaborate with software development teams to understand requirements and ensure testability from early design through production release.
  • Conduct reviews of design and requirements to identify potential issues early in the development cycle.
  • Execute hands-on testing in lab and manufacturing-like environments, including setup, configuration, and validation of test equipment and test benches.
  • Analyze test results, report defects, and work closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution of issues affecting product performance, reliability, and safety.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and drive corrective actions for identified issues that may span software, firmware, and hardware interactions.
  • Contribute to process improvements and the adoption of new testing tools and methodologies appropriate for complex industrial products rather than purely transactional systems.

Requirements

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Required: 5+ years of overall experience in software development and testing within embedded, industrial, or product-focused environments.
  • Required: 4+ years of hands-on experience specifically in manual testing, preferably automated testing with direct interaction with physical hardware or devices.
  • Preferred: Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing automated testing solutions and frameworks.
  • Preferred: Experience working with electromechanical systems, HVAC equipment, industrial controls, manufacturing equipment, or construction-related products.
  • Preferred: Background in validating software in lab, factory, or field environments rather than exclusively enterprise IT or financial systems.

Qualifications

Required: Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, or similar.

Required: Familiarity with hardware testing and debugging using tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG or similar industrial diagnostic equipment.

Required: Prior experience in leading testing efforts for complex embedded systems.

Skills

  • Strong background in software testing.
  • Deep understanding of embedded systems.
  • Proven experience in automated testing.
  • Hands-on experience validating software on physical products.
