About the Role

As a Senior Software Integration Engineer on the Enterprise Mission Integration & Test (EMIT) program at RTX, you will join a dynamic team working at the forefront of satellite ground systems technology. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge satellite communication systems while collaborating with top engineers in a fast-paced, Agile, and DevOps environment.

Responsibilities

  • Enable the integration of a large system of systems by planning and synchronizing integration plans across multiple stakeholders.
  • Participate in enterprise-level working groups to facilitate early integration, demonstration, and regression testing of mission capabilities.
  • Design, develop, and test Java-based software applications for satellite ground systems in a Linux environment.
  • Implement automated tests to validate mission functionality and ensure system readiness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and customer stakeholders to align system integration priorities.
  • Analyze system dependencies, interpret Interface Control Documents (ICDs), and troubleshoot systems, interfaces, and messages.
  • Leverage tools such as JIRA and Confluence to track progress, generate metrics, and drive accountability.
  • Contribute to the development of architectural solutions for test automation and enterprise testing.
  • Participate in ground/space and space/ground mission integration activities, including solution demonstrations and enterprise test campaigns.
  • Brief integration status, risks, and gaps to customer leadership and stakeholders.
  • Provide input on system readiness to support demonstrations and test events, focusing on high-risk interfaces.
  • Collaborate with Thread Leads and Acquisition Offices to ensure alignment of system integration priorities.
  • Design and implement automated tests to support solution demonstrations and enterprise testing.
  • Analyze test results, read logs, query databases, and troubleshoot system behaviors.
  • Occasionally code, test, and integrate Java and/or Python software in an Agile Linux DevOps environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in object-oriented software design and development using Java in a Linux environment.
  • Experience using unit testing tools such as JUnit.
  • Experience integrating, testing, and troubleshooting systems, interfaces, and messages, including analyzing data and test results, reading logs, querying databases, and interpreting ICDs.
  • Proficient use of Atlassian tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government-issued Top Secret security clearance that can be crossed over to a TS/SCI prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship (required for security clearance eligibility).

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience with core Java, Bash, and Python.
  • Experience working in an Agile and DevOps development environment designing and implementing software systems, along with deploying and debugging distributed systems.
  • Experience with AWS services, including S3, SQS, SNS, CloudFormation, and DynamoDB.
  • Experience with Ground Systems Integration in Space or Intelligence domains.

Pay

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The range provided is a good-faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
