About the Role
We are seeking a Software Integration Engineer to support the integration and testing of real-time embedded software for combat vehicle systems. This role involves Linux-based software integration, hardware integration, scripting, networking, cybersecurity, troubleshooting, and software verification testing.
Responsibilities
- Integrate and test software applications running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
- Integrate software and hardware components within combat vehicle systems.
- Build and maintain software and hardware integration testbeds.
- Use Ethernet and CAN bus protocols to test applications and troubleshoot issues.
- Package Linux software as RPMs and binary executables.
- Work with drivers, shared objects, and static libraries.
- Perform scripting, networking, cybersecurity hardening, vulnerability scanning, and software verification activities.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and vehicle test teams to investigate issues and analyze test data.
- Troubleshoot complex hardware and software integration problems.
- Ensure technical solutions follow established engineering principles and meet system, performance, quality, and customer requirements.
- Travel to customer locations as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related field.
- At least two years of software integration experience.
- Experience integrating software applications on Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
- Experience packaging software as RPMs and binary executables.
- Experience working with drivers, shared objects, and static libraries.
- Knowledge of Ethernet and CAN bus protocols.
- Experience with Git and Jira or GitLab.
- Strong troubleshooting, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work on combat vehicle systems.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, software engineering, electrical engineering, or computer science.
- Experience with embedded systems and real-time operating systems such as VxWorks.
- Familiarity with C and C++ programming.
- Experience with Bash, PowerShell, or Python scripting.
- Knowledge of Ethernet-based protocols, including SSL/TLS, SSH, and SFTP.
- Experience with Nessus, Coverity, system hardening, and STIG requirements.
- Experience configuring and using virtual machines.
- Familiarity with MIL-STD-1553 and other military or commercial design standards.
- Experience with UML modeling tools such as MagicDraw or Enterprise Architect.
- Familiarity with IBM DOORS, CMMI development practices, the Qt framework, QML, or NI TestStand.
- Familiarity with combat vehicle functions and capabilities.
Pay
$55.00 - $60.00 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications)
