About You And The Role
We are looking for a hands-on Software Engineering Manager to lead Zipline’s Financial Platform team. This role is responsible for building the layer that turns Zipline’s operational activity into accurate, auditable, scalable financial systems. As Zipline grows across commercial delivery, marketplace-style partnerships, manufacturing, inventory, and global operations, we need financial systems that can keep pace with the business.
- Lead a small team of software engineers responsible for Zipline’s financial systems
- Build and evolve systems for commercial monetization, including a billing engine, pricing, fees, tax, payments, refunds, credits, partner settlement, and reconciliation
- Develop financial event models and ledger-like systems that create reliable, auditable transaction records across Zipline’s operations
- Partner with Finance to reduce manual workflows, improve close processes, strengthen controls, and create scalable financial operations
- Support manufacturing finance needs, including inventory costing, cost accounting, COGS visibility, and ERP integration
- Own the roadmap and product discovery process for Finance Systems, working directly with Finance and cross-functional business partners
- Define the long-term platform vision for how financial data, financial events, and operational systems should connect across Zipline
- Balance fast iteration with long-term architecture, auditability, correctness, and maintainability
- Contribute hands-on technically, including code, design reviews, architecture, debugging, and implementation where needed
- Build systems that integrate cleanly with a custom built ERP solution, accounting, tax, reporting, and other third-party systems
