About the Role
The Credit Card department is seeking a Senior Manager, Software Engineering to drive technical innovation, scale engineering teams, and deliver high-impact products in a rapidly evolving industry.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain an engineering roadmap and co-develop the technical strategy to drive large-scale business growth and innovation.
- Ensure product vision is realized through excellence in execution and operations, collaborating with Product teams and business leadership to deliver business and product outcomes.
- Maintain high availability and security for users in a rapidly evolving industry.
- Lead the scaling of Gemini’s engineering teams through recruiting strategies to identify and attract top engineering talent.
- Develop current talent by honing functional and qualitative skills through mentorship and career development.
- Establish and maintain development methodologies that enable rapid iteration and consistent quality at high velocity.
- Plan and develop highly automated build, test, and deploy frameworks in collaboration with infrastructure teams and other internal groups.
- Lead, manage, and mentor engineers, including setting staff goals, providing performance feedback, and fostering continuous learning.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in software development with languages such as Java, C++, or Scala.
- 4+ years of experience managing teams of software engineers in a high-precision, regulated industry.
- Proven track record of developing and maintaining large-scale, distributed systems.
- Experience with agile development methodologies and a commitment to best practices in code health, testing, and maintainability.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies and microservices architecture.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the crypto or fintech industry.
- Understanding of blockchain technologies and crypto wallets.

Pay
The base salary range for this role is between $195,000 - $300,000 in the State of New York, the State of California, and the State of Washington. This range is not inclusive of a discretionary bonus or equity package. Compensation is determined by factors including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.
Schedule
In the United States, Gemini offers a hybrid work approach at hub offices, balancing in-person collaboration with remote flexibility. Expectations may vary by location and role. Employees who do not live near a hub are part of the remote workforce.
