Job Summary

Active Top Secret (TS/SCI) clearance with polygraph is required. Visionist is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for a fully funded opportunity supporting big data processing platforms. The role involves developing and deploying analytics critical for mission-critical reporting and decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical direction of software development efforts across multiple teams
  • Recommend and evaluate new technologies, tools, and processes to improve software solutions and development efficiency
  • Collaborate with customers and systems engineers to define and implement appropriate software development methodologies
  • Oversee software quality throughout the development lifecycle, ensuring adherence to engineering standards and best practices
  • Cover coordination of technical work across multiple teams and stakeholders
  • Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership
  • Identify technical risks, resolve challenges, and communicate project status to stakeholders

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • 20+ years of experience in software development
  • Experience leading multiple software development teams or large-scale software engineering efforts
  • Experience evaluating and implementing software development processes and engineering best practices
  • Experience overseeing software quality assurance, testing, and release activities
  • Experience coordinating technical work across multiple teams and stakeholders
  • Ability to mentor engineers and provide technical leadership
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, and the software development lifecycle
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills
