We expect developers to gain an intimate understanding of the business and work autonomously to solve problems.

Responsibilities

  • Build systems with a focus on testing, reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Design, model, and program in various languages and technologies.
  • Work on both legacy and greenfield development projects.
  • Drive projects to completion with initiative and enthusiasm.
  • Learn and promote new technologies with a focus on best practices.
  • Provide on-call support as needed.
  • Sometimes collaborate with other developers on the same task.

Requirements

  • Multiple years of server-side development experience.
  • A solid understanding of micro-service architectures and the CAP theorem.
  • A good grasp of functional paradigms and type theory.
  • Confident knowledge of the JVM.
  • Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Java, Python, and Clojure.
  • Experience with Airflow or similar Python-based workflow orchestration tools.
  • Knowledge of domain-driven design and domain modeling.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Linux, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Git.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience using AI coding assistants to accelerate development while taking ownership of outcomes.
  • Knowledge of financial concepts, exchange trading, or physical energy trading.

Pay

The annual base salary range for this position is $175,000 to $275,000, depending on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and relevant skill set. The position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.

Full-time position.
