Senior Software Engineer (Test)

About the role

Thompson Software Solutions is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Test) to support the development and validation of advanced software systems for a military aircraft platform.

Responsibilities

• Use a wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the software field to develop, integrate, and test software products.
• Work independently on projects and collaborate with other software engineers and program development/deployment teams.
• Contribute to mission-critical avionics and embedded capabilities that enable the performance, safety, and effectiveness of next-generation military aviation systems.
• Participate in a high-performing multi-site team environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in STEM discipline
• 5+ years of experience in software test/automated software testScript Writing (Python)
• Familiarity writing automated tests
• Test automation using Python and scripting tools
• Laboratory and hardware-in-the-loop integration
• Ability to work onsite 100%
• Ability to travel 10%

Qualifications

• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, time-management, and interpersonal skills
• Strong technical background in software development and testing
• Experience with Atlassian Tools (Confluence, JIRA, Bitbucket, etc.)
• Proficiency in Python development

• Requirements-based testing and traceability
• Digital simulation (SIL/MIL/HIL) and closed-loop testing
• Systems Integration Experience
