Senior Software Engineer, Simple Trade Experience

For our client, a leader in the Finance & Insurance space, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their team and lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. This role involves collaborating across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions, influencing architecture and execution quality in a regulated financial services environment.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and delivery of systems for trading millions of users worldwide
• Architect systems supporting various trading types with high reliability
• Collaborate with product and design teams to enhance the trading experience on web and mobile
• Oversee production service evolution to manage increased traffic and scope
• Improve engineering quality through code reviews, mentorship, and sharing of best practices

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on web-scale services
• Experience building and maintaining high-availability distributed systems, preferably in financial or trading sectors
• Proficiency in backend languages such as Java or Golang, with knowledge of data stores like MongoDB or Redis
• Ability to blend product thinking with operational excellence and system observability
• Experience in modernizing legacy systems to next-generation technology
• Knowledge of responsible generative AI use to improve workflow efficiency

Pay

$186,065 – $218,900 annually
