About the role

We are looking for a talented Senior Software Engineer (Python) to join a team developing business applications for an airline company. Our client is building a world where air travel is the most sustainable, affordable, comfortable, quiet, and fastest way to travel any distance, aiming to accelerate the next great revolution in aviation: electric flight.

Responsibilities

  • Develop web and mobile applications using modern tech-stack, patterns, and latest technologies.
  • Create new programs and maintain existing programs, utilizing the latest programming languages and development environments.
  • Collaborate with various departments (business, product, sales, etc.) to gather business requirements for the software.
  • Define, review, implement, and document the development of applications, ensuring compliance with the original design and business requirements.
  • Suggest technologies and third-party services/components to improve the software.
  • Create and maintain cloud-based web services for server-side infrastructure, including Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services, and Firebase.
  • Perform technical audits on existing platforms and analyze results to offer the best solutions.
  • Research and stay informed of the latest technologies to ensure platforms are designed and updated using the latest methodologies and best practices.
  • Support debugging and issue resolution for customer escalations.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of working experience.
  • Experience working with low-latency, high-volume, and highly-available distributed systems, including deployment, monitoring, and building robust fault-tolerant systems.
  • Highly responsible, self-motivated, and able to thrive in an energetic, fast-paced, creative environment.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively both independently and in collaborative team environments.
  • Operates with a sense of urgency, focus, and discipline.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal).
  • Team player with a strong sense of ownership and a "get things done" attitude.
  • Detail-oriented and meticulous about work.
  • Ethical, fair, and maintains high integrity.
