Senior Software Engineer, Platform

About the role

Maybern is building an agentic operating system for private fund management, enabling investment managers to focus on driving returns while handling regulatory scrutiny and investor transparency demands. The Platform Team provides core components—foundational data modeling, integration testing, and release tooling—so product teams can move quickly and safely. We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to shape the technical foundation, mentor engineers, and build systems that transparently handle scalability, performance, and fault tolerance.

Responsibilities

• Architect, scope, and build core parts of the system from the ground up
• Identify and drive new initiatives while mentoring junior engineers
• Design elegant, flexible solutions in close partnership with other engineers
• Plan for the long term while navigating short-term tradeoffs
• Build and own AI-enabled developer tools, internal workflows, and automated engineering processes

Requirements

• 4+ years of software engineering experience, including meaningful exposure to cloud infrastructure, platform systems, or developer-facing tools
• Experience monitoring cloud applications, responding to incidents, and improving production reliability and observability
• Understanding of relational databases, transactions, distributed systems, and the tradeoffs involved in building reliable services
• Ability to take broad guidance, scope ambiguous work, and independently drive complex projects forward while collaborating across the organization
• Comfort working across server-side languages and frameworks; Python and Django are used in practice

Pay

Compensation range: $180K – $230K
