Senior Software Engineer, Mobile/Frontend

About the role

We're looking for Software Engineers to help build Belfry’s products and culture. This role is ideal for engineers who want the full early-stage startup experience: shaping our tech stack, owning product features, learning from industry experts and investors, building a team, and earning equity rewards based on your contribution.

Your primary focus will be on our mobile and frontend codebases, but as a small, flexible team, you’ll also contribute across the full stack as needed.

Responsibilities

• Evolve Belfry’s mobile app built on React Native/Expo, ensuring field officers have reliable, performant tools every shift, and extend that quality to our React web platform.
• Improve UI development practices by contributing to best practices, observability, and design systems that the team adopts.
• Contribute across the full stack—building API endpoints, debugging backend services, or integrating new features.
• Leverage agentic development workflows by helping the team adopt and maximize AI-powered coding tools to increase efficiency.

Requirements

• Strong communicator: Clearly explain ideas on technical architecture, product design, and collaboration.

• Deep React expertise: 1+ years of hands-on experience with React, ideally including React Native + Expo.

• Comfortable across the stack: Frontend expertise with willingness to dive into backend, APIs, or infrastructure (Python familiarity is a bonus).
• Technically strong: Typically 3+ years of software engineering experience, with a track record of owning mobile or frontend projects.
• Always learning: Open to new tools, frameworks, and AI-driven development workflows.
