Responsibilities

  • Designs and implements complex features and systems with minimal guidance using React Native, Expo, and TypeScript
  • Demonstrates expertise in mobile application architecture, including navigation, deep linking, state management, and offline storage strategies
  • Leverages modern tooling such as Expo, EAS, and CI/CD pipelines to streamline development, testing, and deployment
  • Makes sound architectural decisions for team-level projects, considering scalability, maintainability, and performance
  • Provides expert guidance in code reviews, ensuring high standards across the team
  • Debugs and resolves complex production issues efficiently
  • Identifies and resolves performance bottlenecks, technical debt, and production issues in mobile environments
  • Writes comprehensive design documents that enable informed decision-making
  • Collaborates effectively with web, backend, product, and marketing teams to align mobile capabilities with broader platform goals
  • Mentors engineers in React Native development, mobile architecture, and cross-platform best practices
  • Identifies and advocates for important technical investments and improvements
  • Establishes and advocates for engineering standards across mobile development, including testing, performance, and code quality
  • Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
  • Ability to travel overnight

Requirements

  • Expertise in mobile application architecture, including navigation, deep linking, state management, and offline storage strategies
  • 3 years direct React Native experience required
  • Experience with Expo ecosystem (EAS, Expo Router, OTA updates) preferred
  • Skilled balancing pragmatism with technical excellence, making appropriate trade-offs
  • Familiarity with mobile analytics, monitoring, and observability tools
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form or via DRH applications
  • Ability to sit for majority of 8-hour workday; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision
  • The noise level is generally moderate

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated mastery of multiple technologies and readily adapts to new technical challenges
  • Experience with Expo ecosystem (EAS, Expo Router, OTA updates) preferred
