Senior Software Engineer (ML)

What You Will Do

• Design, implement, integrate, and maintain software applications and services.
• Translate business, system, and customer requirements into technical solutions.
• Develop clean, maintainable, well-documented, and testable code.
• Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews.
• Analyze technical problems and implement effective solutions.
• Develop unit, integration, system, and automated regression tests.
• Troubleshoot defects, performance issues, deployment problems, and production incidents.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define interfaces, data flows, and integration requirements.
• Support continuous integration and continuous delivery practices.
• Contribute to software documentation, technical procedures, and engineering standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve system performance, reliability, security, and maintainability.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and technical estimation.
• Mentor less-experienced engineers through design guidance, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
• Communicate technical status, risks, dependencies, and recommendations to project and technical leadership.
• Support system deployments, operational readiness activities, and sustainment as needed.

What You Need To Have

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology
• 8 years of professional software development experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Clearance: TS/SCI w/Poly
• Demonstrated experience developing and delivering production-quality software
• Strong proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Java, C#, C++, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript
• Experience with software design principles, object-oriented or functional programming, and common development patterns
• Experience with source-control systems, code reviews, automated testing, and defect tracking
• Experience analyzing requirements and converting them into well-engineered software solutions
• Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues independently and collaboratively
• Understanding of software development lifecycle processes and Agile development practices
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment

What We'd Like You To Have

• Experience developing distributed, cloud-based, web-based, embedded, or mission-critical systems
• Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, messaging systems, or service-oriented architectures
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, or automated deployment pipelines
