Senior Software Engineer - Java/Microservices

For our client, a leader in the Information Technology space, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Java and Microservices. This role will lead technical work focused on cloud-enabled scalability, reliability, and delivery excellence. You will collaborate across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and long-term technology capabilities in a technology-driven environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data ingestion and retrieval systems
• Architect and implement features to enhance platform architecture
• Drive innovation in cloud architecture and distributed systems
• Manage robust and efficient data handling processes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to iterate on product features
• Mentor peers and encourage best practices within the engineering team
• Continuously seek improvements in technology stack and product features

Qualifications

• 4+ years of enterprise software development experience with leadership aspiration
• Proficient in distributed microservice architecture
• Skilled in database optimization and schema design
• B.S. in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
• Experienced in Java or Kotlin; open to learning new languages
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and containerized architectures
• Experience in developing core libraries and search engines
• Ability to mentor mid-level and junior staff
• Adaptable to Agile collaborative environments
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases and event-driven systems

Pay

$137,500 – $183,500 annually
