Senior Software Engineer (Java) - Card Payments
About the role
The Card Payments Airlines team processes high-volume transactions for global airline partners via major card networks. This team is developing the next generation of payment solutions tailored for the airline industry. The platform is mission-critical, handling millions of transactions daily.
Responsibilities
- Lead complex technical projects from requirements analysis through design, implementation, testing, and launch into production.
- Collaborate across teams and time zones to deliver projects.
- Bring your own point of view on best engineering practices.
- Contribute to the implementation of features while offering technical guidance and mentoring to other engineers.
- Identify and improve parts of the platform to enhance its robustness and scalability.
- Implement features that will be used at scale, thinking in that mindset during development.
- Bring live functionalities to market within your first few weeks of joining the team.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of professional experience as a Senior Software Engineer.
- Great communication skills and ability to articulate complex technical concepts to different stakeholders.
- Flexible, team-oriented, and detail-oriented.
- Experience with complex large-scale distributed systems.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of building Java-based web services (RESTful, SOAP).
- Experience designing performant database models in PostgreSQL or other relational databases.
- Knowledgeable in various software architecture paradigms such as event-driven or message queueing systems.
Skills
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with microservices architecture.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines.

Pay
The annual base salary range for this role is $180,000 - $243,000.
