Senior Software Engineer - HashiCorp Secure Products

Role Overview

We're seeking Senior Engineers with a strong backend focus to join our team. This role involves:

• Leading the design, prototyping, and implementation of multi-phase features and tools with a high business impact, ensuring stability and usability.
• Collaborating closely with Product Design, Product Management, and cross-functional engineering teams to align on priorities and technical solutions.
• Acting as a subject matter expert in Golang development and quality standards, influencing internal teams and the external community.
• Auditing and breaking down large projects across multiple teams, evaluating tradeoffs to maintain project momentum and alignment.
• Spotting potential technical issues before they happen and recommending improvements to maintain quality, efficiency, and productivity.
• Staying current on industry trends and best practices, advancing their adoption within the team and across the organization.
• Advocating for technical roadmaps that enhance organizational performance, and participating in system-wide debugging, maintenance, and production support.
• Mentoring and guiding technical decisions to support current and long-term objectives for various projects and products.

Requirements

You should have:

• A professional background in developing with modern programming languages and frameworks, with a particular interest in Golang.
• Experience working with distributed systems and cloud providers like AWS, Azure, or GCP, focusing on scalability, resilience, and security.
• Demonstrated conflict resolution skills, able to proactively identify and address technical and project-related challenges, balancing differing perspectives to maintain project alignment and team cohesion.
• Strong organizational skills and an increasing awareness of team dynamics and work relationships, guiding technical decisions to support current and long-term objectives.
• An innovative mindset capable of identifying areas for improvement and proposing solutions that enhance technical roadmaps, processes, and methodologies, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
• Experience in code and design reviews, pair programming, and mentorship to level up peers.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

• Experience with HashiCorp products (Terraform, Packer, Waypoint, Nomad, Vault, Boundary, Consul).
• Experience working directly with internal teams, customers, and/or external communities, designing solutions based on requirements and customer needs.
