Senior Software Engineer (GO/Typescript)

About the role

We're seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our Hospitality Fulfillment team at SpotOn. Your responsibilities will involve building features that power our Express POS, working across various backend services and microfrontends, and navigating real complexity in our systems.

Responsibilities

• Take extreme ownership of features, ensuring they are delivered successfully even when faced with challenging issues.
• Navigate and solve high-stakes puzzles in our complex systems using creative thinking and resilience.
• Be a "whatever it takes" engineer, ready to step in and help when needed, whether it's fixing bugs, managing infrastructure, or leading a team.
• Leverage AI tools to improve code quality and debug complex systems, treating them as teammates.
• Drive the team forward by providing technical leadership, ensuring smart decisions are made and addressing tech debt proactively.

Requirements

• Real-world experience: At least 5 to 7 years building software in high-traffic, production environments.
• Backend mastery: Proficient in Golang and ideally also JavaScript/TypeScript.
• AI fluency: Experience integrating AI into workflows and using it to write better code and debug complex systems.
• Strong communication: Solid command of English (B2 level).
• Full-stack flexibility: Comfortable with PHP if needed to complete projects.
• Cloud and infrastructure comfort: Familiarity with AWS, Terraform, or Kubernetes.
• Mentoring mindset: Natural ability to raise the bar for others through code reviews and shared knowledge.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns for building scalable applications.

Skills
