Senior Software Engineer – Fullstack
Lyric is an AI-first, platform-based healthcare technology company, committed to simplifying the business of care by preventing inaccurate payments and reducing overall waste in the healthcare ecosystem. We're a company at the intersection of FinTech and Healthcare, modernizing our payment integrity platform by rebuilding around clean APIs, fixing data bottlenecks, and preparing the product for scale.
About the role
We're looking for a Full-Stack Engineer to build intuitive, performant web experiences backed by scalable, event-driven services. You’ll own end-to-end delivery—from modular Angular frontends (including micro-frontend strategies) to resilient .NET microservices—working closely with product, UX, DevOps, and QA to ship customer-delighting features at scale. This role is ideal if you thrive in fast-paced environments, care deeply about clean architecture and developer experience, and enjoy solving complex UI/UX and distributed-systems challenges.
You’ll use AI agents daily to accelerate migrations, refactors, and test coverage, while ensuring quality remains high. Think of it as having a junior engineer with infinite energy—your job is to supply the judgment.
Responsibilities
- Use AI agents (Cursor, Claude Code, Codex) to accelerate framework upgrades, refactors, API extraction, test scaffolding, and documentation while catching hallucinations and preventing regressions.
- Build reusable playbooks for the team, including prompt templates, repo-level agent instructions, migration checklists, review heuristics, and clear "definition of done" standards for AI-assisted changes.
- Modernize a legacy .NET + SQL Server stack into a maintainable, performant architecture, including upgrading to current .NET, untangling architecture boundaries, and improving API design.
- Optimize SQL Server performance, including query tuning, indexing, and transactional correctness. Assist with data pipeline needs (e.g., Kafka) as required.
- Build with security and privacy as defaults, implementing least privilege, safe data handling, and robust quality guardrails (automated testing, CI/CD, observability).
- Review code thoughtfully, engage in architectural discussions, and raise the bar for quality without being overly critical.
- Partner with analysts, stakeholders, and engineers to turn business problems into working software that solves real-world needs.
- Help build delivery plans that balance "right" vs. "right now," ensuring predictable, confident feature releases.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building and shipping production systems with real users.
- Strong problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-moving teams.
- Experience with C# and modern .NET (Core and beyond), particularly in large codebases with meaningful refactoring and migration work.
- Strong SQL Server skills, including schema design, query tuning, and performance troubleshooting for data-heavy applications.
- Cloud experience with Azure and/or AWS (Azure preferred).
- API design experience, including versioning, authentication, reliability, and testing practices.
- Daily use of AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, or similar) for multi-file refactors, migrations, test generation, and review workflows.
- Ability to identify AI-generated errors, step in when needed, and maintain high-quality standards.
Qualifications
- Experience modernizing legacy ASP.NET / .NET Framework applications, with knowledge of Azure modernization patterns.
- Clear communication skills, including well-documented PRs, straightforward design docs, and pragmatic collaboration.
- Experience with distributed systems tooling (Kafka, event-driven architectures, or Postgres alongside SQL Server).
- Front-end experience with Angular and/or React/Next.js.
- Experience establishing agent-friendly engineering practices, such as writing repo instructions for AI tools, breaking work into agent-sized tasks, and setting up CI guardrails for AI-generated code.
- Background in regulated domains (healthcare, fintech, payments) where reliability and compliance are critical.
