Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack, Labs
About the role
Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. Our products need to handle information at massive scale, and extend well beyond web search. We're looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design and mobile; the list goes on and is growing every day.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain full-stack AI products from initial concept to launch.
- Explore novel approaches to optimize software productivity and rapidly develop prototypes to evaluate feasibility.
- Assess prototype performance dispassionately and assist the team in scoping next steps for development.
- Scale prototypes into robust systems, serving as the owner and builder of end-to-end software systems.
- Work cross-functionally with experts at Google DeepMind and Labs to apply and develop new algorithms and software tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
- 3 years of experience with full stack development, across back-end such as Java, Python, Golang, or C++ codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent.
- 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
- 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
Preferred qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
- 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
- Experience with machine learning principles and AI agent development.
- Experience developing accessible technologies.
- Experience in Performance Optimization, Performance Tuning, Operating Systems, Virtual Machines, etc.

As part of the AIDA (AI Developer Assistant) team within Google Labs, you will build and launch AI products that revolutionize how software is designed, developed, and maintained.

Google offers a comprehensive benefits package including individual pay determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. US: $174000 - $253000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits.
